May and June have surely been the busiest months in the history of busy months. Cornwall saw the Olympic Torch arrive on May 18th, and it feels like we’ve been celebrating ever since...

The UK is currently recovering from an epic 4 day Jubilee weekend encompassing endless street parties, union jack paraphernalia and triangular sandwiches . All in celebration of the Queen and her 60 years of service.

Royalist or not, you couldn’t help but be swept along into a wave of patriotic spirit as people united in being British and proud. Never have I seen our flag used in so many different ways; red, white and blue adorned everything from cupcakes to contact lenses. From teeny tots to groovy grannies, Mevagissey to Manchester; the UK forgot its worries and unashamedly partied.

And guess what Cornwall? For us, the fun’s not over yet...
 

The Royal Cornwall Show starts tomorrow and although the forecast is typically AWFUL, no amount of rain and wind (yes, gales are predicted) will dampen our spirits. 3 days of everything Cornwall has to offer in one place... does it get any better? From food to fashion, flowers to ferrets, we’re always left exhausted after hours of browsing and stopping far too often for tasting samples. For those of you who can simply walk passed plates of Cornish fudge, clotted cream, pasties, pies... hats off. We haven’t mastered how to do this.

What we’re most excited about however, doesn’t involve food or shopping. Instead; horses, chukkers and mallets. I’m talking about the first ever Polo event, and it’s sponsored by Ann’s Cottage.

Ann’s Cottage have always championed niche sports...from pioneering surfing in the 70’s, to all manner of adrenaline activities. Polo fits perfectly with the Ann’s Cottage lifestyle and we’re rather excited to be involved with such a fast-paced and exciting sport. If it’s good enough for Prince Harry, it’s good enough for us.

The Polo will be happening at The Royal Cornwall Show in the Main Arena on Thursday 7th June at 2.05pm, Friday 8th June at 12.45pm and Saturday 9th June at 1.55pm.

We will be at stand 623 and 616 with Hawkins Motor Group, so make sure you drop by to see us...there’ll be a chance to win an Animal wetsuit!
